I grew up in the business. My father, Sol Negrin, ASC, is a cinematographer as well...so I grew up on film sets and, fortunately caught the bug to be a filmmaker early on. I used to get out of having to do written assignments for school by doing them on film. My dad was my teacher and I started shooting when I was 9-years-old. I don’t think I ever had any ambition other than to be a cinematographer.
